The Short Version
Ava Finance is a free service for borrowers because lenders pay us. When you submit a request and a lender in our network receives it — or when a connection results — that lender compensates Ava Finance. This is the site's entire revenue model, and it is why we can offer the form, the calculator, the guides, and the comparisons at no charge to you.
What Compensation Does and Does Not Influence
It may influence: which lenders participate in our network, and therefore which lenders can receive your request. Our network is a subset of the market; lenders outside it may offer terms as good or better, and nothing stops you from shopping beyond us — our own comparison page profiles lenders we have no relationship with.
It does not influence: the editorial content of this site. Our guides, reviews, and comparisons carry no paid placements, no sponsored rankings, and no outbound referral buttons. When our education says a personal loan is the wrong tool for a situation, that sentence costs us a potential connection and stays published anyway.
We Are Not a Lender
Ava Finance does not make loans, make credit decisions, set rates or terms, or service repayment. Every offer you receive comes from an independent lender; every agreement is between you and that lender; and all figures on this site — APR ranges, payment examples, funding timelines — are representative estimates until a lender's written offer states your actual terms. Loan amounts in our network range from $500 to $5,000; availability varies by state, and not all applicants will qualify or receive offers.
Important Notes on Our Network
Lenders in our network include state-licensed lenders and, in some cases, tribal lenders operating under tribal regulatory frameworks; the legal framework governing your loan is stated in the loan agreement, and our lender guide explains what that distinction means before you sign anything. Submitting a request through Ava Finance uses a soft credit inquiry; individual lenders may perform a hard inquiry if you proceed with a full application, and their documents say when.
